The Difficult Scriptures
These pairs are often placed in tension. Select either reference to examine its larger passage in the study above, or open it in the full reader. The aim is understanding, not manufacturing contradictions.
Does assurance look different from God's perspective?

2 Timothy 2:19 · 1 John 5:13 · 2 Corinthians 13:5 · Daniel 3:16–18
Samson's presumption in Judges 16:20 is a cautionary narrative about losing divine empowerment; it is not explicit proof of losing eternal salvation. The faithfulness of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego concerns deliverance from an earthly threat, not a formula for eternal security.
